Safeguarding Awareness – half day

Safeguarding Awareness

Safeguarding is how we can protect children, young people and vulnerable adults from abuse or neglect by the actions, or lack of actions, of another person. In order to safeguard and protect persons from abuse or neglect we need to learn how to identify vulnerable individuals and take necessary steps to stop abuse and neglect.

This introductory session is designed for anyone working with children and vulnerable adults, and provides a basic understanding of safeguarding principles, as well as information on how to spot abuse and how concerns can be reported. More senior practitioners and those with specific safeguarding responsibilities should consider the Level 3 Principles of Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People or Vulnerable Adults.
