Manual Handling Awareness – half day

Manual Handling Awareness

In 2013/14, an estimated 909,000 working days were lost due to handling-related injuries (HSE, 2017), with manual handling being the cause of almost a quarter of all reported sickness. Such injuries and absence can be costly to employers, as well as resulting in long-term problems and conditions for those affected.

The half day Manual Handling Awareness course is designed for individuals at all levels who may transport, or support, a load by hand or bodily force (this may include lifting, pulling, pushing, sliding, rolling or lowering). Sessions include an introduction to manual handling legislation, common injuries and an overview of good moving and handling techniques.
