Manual Handling (Level 2)
In 2013/14, an estimated 909,000 working days were lost due to handling-related injuries (HSE, 2017), with manual handling being the cause of almost a quarter of all reported sickness. Such injuries and absence can be costly to employers, as well as resulting in long-term problems and conditions for those affected.
Workplace regulations require employers to provide staff with health and safety information and training – supplemented, as necessary, with more specific information and training on manual handling injury risks and prevention. This nationally recognised, level 2 qualification meets HSE recommendations and provides learners with a good understanding of relevant legislation, risk assessment and safe moving and handling planning and practice.
